Special Olympics Athletes’ Oath

 Special Olympics

CWCW (E) Ltd. athletes compete in local competitions in the Special Olympics South Leinster area leading to further participation in Regional, National, European and World Games. In 2003 the World Games came to Ireland and the people of Enniscorthy and the surrounding areas embraced the event and the Canadian Special Olympics delegation who were based in town before the competition commenced.

National Games Limerick 12th-15th June 2014!

Athletes from CWCWE have been preparing for the past number of months for the National Games which will be held in Limerick starting with the Opening Ceremony on 12th June 2014. Currently we have 23 athletes selected to represent Team Leinster. This is a big honour for these athletes and they will represent us in various sports including: Table Tennis, Bocce, Athletics, Basketball and Football. This gives all our athletes a great chance of progressing to the World Games which will be held in Los Angeles in 2015.

The athletes who have been selected have started their training for these events as far back as 2012 as it is a four year cycle. It is through their perseverance and dedication and help from family members, coaches and volunteers that they have progressed this far. Lets Hope for good things in 2014!!

Our Special Olympics programme cannot run without the help of the great volunteers we have in the organisation. We are greatly endebted to these special people giving their own time to help our athletes. But we are urgently in need of volunteers all the time. If you are interested in getting involved please contact Annette on 0539236678.
