Great Grandma Iris Fundraising at 100

Great Grandma Iris’ Garden

Great Grandma Iris Dungan was 100 years old in March. She opened her Cottage Garden for the first time in 2010, ten years ago to raise funds for both the County Wexford Community Workshop in Enniscorthy and Monart church her local church

This was a great success and was repeated in 2015 for her 95th birthday as the garden had been further extended. Her third Open Garden was organised for the 28th of June. But with the current circumstances, it will not be possible to open the garden until later in the year. However her fundraising efforts for the two worthy causes will go ahead. Iris has enlisted the help of her family to setup a website to show off her spectacular garden and host her GoFundMe fundraiser, click on and have a look.

The established garden in Monart near Enniscorthy. Iris tended her garden in Monart near Enniscorthy, with her husband Victor when they retired in 1984. Victor passed away in 1994 and since then this garden has been a major daily passion for Iris.

Iris has a goal to raise €5,000 to share between the two charities. As the actual Open Garden is looking unlikely in the near term, follow the link above to take a virtual tour.
